What we do with what you tell us.
The engagement form asks you for real things about your life. Here is what happens to them.
What we collect
Always: your first and last name, email address, mobile phone number, and ZIP code.
If you choose to give it: your street address, ward, LinkedIn, website, employer, and job title.
Depending on what interests you: if you are interested in a role in government, details about your work, experience and availability. If you are interested in a board or commission, your public service and relevant experience. If you are recommending someone else, that person's name and contact information.
If you choose to share it: which lived experiences shape your perspective, and anything else you want us to know.
If you attach one: your résumé. The sections about a role in government and about boards and commissions offer an upload. It is optional, nothing on the form requires it, and whatever is in the file you send becomes part of your submission.
If we speak by phone: notes from that conversation, and our own assessment of it.
Why we ask
To learn if there are opportunities for you to plug into the campaign.
Janeese is the Democratic nominee, not the mayor-elect. There is no transition yet, and nothing here is an offer of employment.
Who can see it
Members of the Janeese for DC team working on engagement and recruitment. Access is limited by role, so some team members see only the submissions assigned to them, and everyone who signs in must use two-factor authentication.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
How you will hear from us
The form asks whether you would like campaign updates by email, and the box is ticked unless you clear it. If you left it ticked, we will add you to the campaign's email list. Those emails have an unsubscribe link.
Either way, we may contact you by email, phone, or text about the things you expressed interest in. You can ask us to stop at any time, and we will.
If someone else recommended you
One option on the form lets a person recommend someone they think we should know about. If that is how we came to have your details, you can ask us to delete them, and we will.
Where it is kept
Your submission is stored with Supabase, which hosts our database, and the site runs on Vercel. We use Resend to send email. These providers process this information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
A résumé you attach is kept in private storage at Supabase, alongside the rest of your submission. It is never published, there is no public link to it, and the only people who can open it are the team members who can already see your submission.
How long we keep it
We keep submissions while the campaign is actively working with people who expressed interest, and we delete or archive them when that work concludes. We may also transfer data to a transition team or administration. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete what we hold about you, including any résumé you attached, or to stop contacting you. Write to us and we will do it.
Age
This form is intended for people 16 and older.
